Elon Musk’s AI Just Wiped Out World’s Best DOTA 2 Players

The best Dota 2 player in the world is a bot, sounds bit weird right, as it should be. OpenAI artificial intelligence technology easily beat Danylo Ishutin, more commonly known by the pseudonym “Dendi”, one of the most famous and respected professional players in the world.

The event took place during the tournament “The International 2017”, one of the most famous eSports events in the world.

OpenAI remains undefeated against the world’s best Dota 2 players in face-to-face clashes. The technology belongs to entrepreneur Elon Musk, who trained them just by copying artificial intelligence to play against himself for weeks, explains the technology media site TechCrunch.

“We have trained him to learn to play against himself,” said OpenAI researcher Jakub Pachoki. “So we have not encoded in any strategy, we have not learned from human experts, just from the beginning, it just keeps playing against a copy of itself. It starts from complete randomness and then makes very small improvements, and finally, now it’s just a level professional”.

One-on-one battles in Dota 2 are far less complex than real-world professional challenges, which include two five-team teams completing various simultaneous tasks to win. Although OpenAI researchers warned that a bot is already being worked on that could play against and alongside humans in a five-to-five battle.

Elon Musk followed the challenge of his artificial intelligence bots. He used to insist through Twitter that this type of technology could be much more dangerous than North Korea if it does not become regulated.
