After several leaks over the last week or so. LG officially introduced the LG Q6. According to LG, this is the first phone to be offered from its new Q6 mid-range lime up, offering premium features at a “competitive price.” The LG Q6 sports the FullVision display featuring an 18:9 aspect ratio, which makes streaming video look better. With a bezel-less design (first handset in its price class to be so endowed), the LG Q6 is lightweight, and LG points out that there is no “unsightly” camera bump.

The LG Q6 features a 5.5-inch display with an FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2160). Powering the device is the Snapdragon 435 chipset, containing an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 505 GPU. There are three different variants of the LG Q6. The LG Q6+ offers 4GB of RAM with 64GB of native storage. It is available in Astro Black, Ice Platinum and Marine Blue. The LG Q6 comes with 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of native storage and color options are Astro Black, Ice Platinum , Mystic White and Terra Gold. Lastly, the LG Q6a comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage. Colors available are Astro Black, Ice Platinum and Terra Gold.

All three versions of the LG Q6 come with a 16MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing selfie shooter that takes wide angle shots at 100 degrees. The square camera mode lets you produce collages made up of multiple square images. And there is a facial recognition system that quickly unlocks the device. A 3000mAh battery keeps the lights on, and Android 7.1.1 is pre-installed.

“The LG Q6 is a blend of premium features, great performance and attractive pricing, a combination that is extremely important to us as we look at the way consumers are using smartphones around the world. The Q series is our way of getting the superb experiences with the essence of the LG’s premium line-ups to more consumers’ hands and pockets.”-Juno Cho, president, LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company

The battery goes through more exacting tests than required to meet international standards, and the ultra-strong 7000 series aerospace aluminum make sure that the device can survive butterfingers. You will find the LG Q6 on sale in key Asian markets starting in August followed by releases in Europe, Latin America and North America.
